Friendship Garden
The vision of the garden keeps with the long-standing mission of Gilbert Sister Cities to further the development of greater friendship and understanding between the people of the Town of Gilbert and other nations. The garden will honor the diversity and rich culture of the global friendships shared between the Town of Gilbert, Arizona, Antrim and Newtownabbey, Northern Ireland, and Leshan, China.
About the Youth Ambassador Program
The high school delegates are chosen by a committee through a selection process, which includes group interviews, a series of individual interviews, and informal gatherings with both the students and their parents.
Applications are now closed for Summer of 2026
High school juniors living in Gilbert or attending a school located in Gilbert have the opportunity to visit Leshan, China, or Antrim-Newtownabbey, Northern Ireland for free this summer through Gilbert Sister Cities’ Youth Ambassador Program.
